First Ever Summer of
Surf World Cup

- Hosted in Woolgoolga Beach -

International surf life saving's best athletes competed on the NSW mid north coast in October 2022 for the first ever Summer of Surf World Cup. With a wide range of events to compete in and prize money won, this one-of-a-kind event is open to any who believe they can compete with the best Australia and the world has to offer. Each entrant received a free event tee shirt and race vest courtesy of Summer of Surf.

The international event brought thousands of visitors to Woolgoolga Beach, north of Coffs Harbour.

The local schools in Woolgoolga were invited to participate in a water safety program. The program teaches students of the potential dangers of the beach and in the water while promoting good practices to ensure students are safe while playing in the sea.

The four-day event included the surf ironman qualifying series, Australian surf swim series, and Australian surf ski series. Some of the sports’ biggest names competed: Naomi Scott, Jackson Borg, Ellie Halliday,
Matt Bevilacqua, Georgia Miller and Lachlan Tame.

The event helped put regional NSW on the map for tourism over the summer. Not only great athletes from Australia joined but right across the world! It was an exciting opportunity to see and explore what's great about the region.

The Festival Zone was filled with food, drinks, and entertainment to enjoy, such as Coffee Vans and Food Trucks where you can park up near the big screen and enjoy the morning watching event highlights with great coffee and appetizing subs. In the evening the crowd got together for a movie night and other nights celebrated with live acoustic music and hung around for post event fun at the Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club.
